This 2x RJ45 to SFP Slot Mini Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter is a stand-alone fiber optic media converter that provides cost effective, entry-level media conversion between 2×10/100/1000Base-TX ports and 100/1000Base-FX ports.
With Mini Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter 2x RJ45 to SFP fixed configuration, deployments are just plug-and-play, and with its small size, it is ideal for locations where space is limited. The SFP port supports single mode dual fiber SFP LX, EX, ZX, multimode dual fiber SFP SX optics and single mode single fiber BIDI SFP optics.
We also supply Media Converter Chassis, the 1U height 12 slots media converter rack mount chassis specially designed for accommodating chassis-based mini Media Converters.
How to use Fiber Media Converter
Extend the distances of your LAN using fiber
Ethernet connections that use copper cable are limited to the data transmission distance of 100 meters using UTP cable. By using an Ethernet to fiber conversion, fiber optic cabling allows you to extend this link over distances of up to 80km.
Maintain investments of existing equipment
Migrate a local network to fiber and at the same time protect your investment from existing copper hardware while maintaining the existing infrastructure.
Protect interference data
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) can cause corruption in data sent over copper Ethernet links. However, the data transmitted through the fiber optic cable is completely immune to this type of noise, guaranteeing optimal data transmission.
Speed conversion
Convert link speeds from 10Mbps to 100Mbps or from 100Mbps to 1000Mbps.
Reliable data transmission
Considering the fact that a media converter is essentially two transceivers that transmit data from one to another, they provide more secure access and a lower probability of connection loss.
